My website is actually in two parts. The "informational" part is located at https://www.Reeves-Music.com while the "store" is hosted at https://reevesmusic.myshopify.com which provides the store functions and processes credit card payments. In most cases, you will not see the Shopify store part except during checkout.

By separating the functions in this way, I can provide tried and tested store functions that were created by a major e-commerce provider and also separate myself from handling any credit card or other financial information.

This "informational" site uses no tracking cookies of any kind to "enhance your experience" or to track you for outside parties or for any other "stalking" purpose. No information about you of any kind is saved or tracked when you visit the informational part of my website.

However, the one exception to that is that my web page server does know the IP address of the device you are using to browse the website and that is logged. This is a necessity of operating on the web. When you come to my website, my server needs to know where to send the web pages back to you. The web is two way communication in that aspect.

To the best of my knowledge, there is only one use of cookies by either website and that is by the store portion for transaction purposes necessary for purchases.

The cookie is used to distinguish your shopping cart from any other shopping cart.

This cookie is not tracking you but tracking your shopping cart and keeping track of what goes into that unique shopping cart.

Unless you finalize a purchase by going to checkout and providing payment information, no one knows who that particular shopping cart belongs to.
